I have a Laptop, a CISCO router, modem and an Xbox 360. My internet provider is comcast (if that makes a difference). My laptop is wired, so it is connected to the internet with the modem. Try to plug one end of your ethernet cord to the back of your xbox 360 and plug the other side to your modem.
