There is an IP adress conflict with another system on the network-- trying to connect xbox 360 via laptop?

After reading up and watching alot of youtube videos on this subject, I decided to try to connect my xbox to live using my wireless internet laptop since i don't want to spend 100$ on a xbox wireless router. After making the bridge connection, i try to connect to live and it dosen't connect, and on my laptop it says ';there is an IP adress conflict with another system on the network';. I disabled my firewall on my wireless laptop and it still dosent connect. Does anyone know what to do? If you do could you please give step by step instructions on how to fix this? Thanks. There is an IP adress conflict with another system on the network-- trying to connect xbox 360 via laptop?
You used the same ip address on both your laptop and Xbox. Dont do that. IP addresses need to be different on each device in your network. Change the ip address you input on your Xbox to one that isn't being used. There is an IP adress conflict with another system on the network-- trying to connect xbox 360 via laptop?
Somewhere, somehow, there is another system that has been given the IP address you are trying to use. It is probably online at the same time. Use another IP address, one that is considerably different on the last number....
I would change all ip addresses to static IP's so you don't ever have to worry about IP conflicts. google how to set static ips for computers and xbox.
