Does anyone know how to connect a xbox 360 to a laptop so I can play xbox live without buying the adapter?

I've tried going to network connections, wireless network, properties, advanced, and checked allow other connections to access the internet but it always comes up an error with the LAN IP address.Does anyone know how to connect a xbox 360 to a laptop so I can play xbox live without buying the adapter?
Well, your laptop needs to be capable of internet sharing. You need to tell your laptop to take the internet signal in wirelessly and send it out through an ethernet cable. After that, make sure the ethernet cable is plugged in, properly in the laptop and the Xbox 360. You'll have to set your network settings to manual and find out your IP address, DNS, and whatever else it needs by looking on your laptop. Put it all into your 360 and it should work. If you want a more detailed tutorial, I'd just google it. You should be able to find some good ones.Does anyone know how to connect a xbox 360 to a laptop so I can play xbox live without buying the adapter?
