How do i connect to xbox live with a laptop? with the wired because..?

i already have the wire in my laptop and its failing to connect the ip address is failing plz helpHow do i connect to xbox live with a laptop? with the wired because..?
Ok


1. Make sure to connect the ethernet to both the xbox and the back of the laptop.





2. Go to your start menu and select connect to





3. Click show all connections





4. You will see Wireless Internet Connection





5. Right click it and go down to Properties





6. Click the Advanced tab at the top





7. Make sure the ';Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection'; box is checked.





8. Click OK or Apply Settings





9. Now you have to make sure the connection isn't firewalled


To do this, go back to or look at the Properties box under the advanced tab and you should see at the top where it says Windows Firewall, Click ';Settings'; and select the ';OFF'; box.








After all this, it should allow you to get on Xbox Live
