The most known way of routing your xbox live service through a computer or laptop to take advantage of not having to use a router or by using your wireless Internet connection you can select both your lap-top's Internet connection and the Ethernet connection your xbox is plugged into and right click on one and tell it to bridge the connections together and then once that has finished you can set a static IP or just use dhcp on that mac bridge. I have not heard of using internet connection sharing. But to do this you need 2 connections either it be 2 lan connections or a wireless connection and a lan connection.
Now now no bridging on xbox live and cheating that way using zone alarm that is firmly against Microsoft's Terms of Use
