How To Connect To Xbox Live by connecting Xbox to laptop on a wireless internet with a ethernet cable.?

I have a Windows Vista Basic Laptop and it's on a Wireless Network. I want to then plug the ethernet cable that comes with the 360 into my laptop and get on the internet there without buying the Xbox 360 Wireless Internet Adapter. I can't find any guide on the internet that works. First of all on the 360 when I go to sign up to Xbox Live I'm not sure if to connect with Windows Media Center or not. I dont want to share any media just put the internet connection from the laptop connected with wireless, through the ethernet cable that comes with the 360 and into the console. I dont know what to do on the laptop but it does find the 360 under networks and it does do something with it on Windows Media Player but It dont want anything else. I just want to know step-by-step how to sort out the internet on the computer AND the console. Do you do something with the Xbox 360 under Networks or something else and where do you go on the 360 when you want to connect to Xbox Live that way. Hey did you ever solve your problem? I'm in the EXACT same boat as you man, and no one seems to have an answer for me.

The internet does not come from your PC, it comes from the modem/router. Just plug your 360 either directly into the modem or into one of the ports on your router.

If you decide to use wireless, you're going to be stuck purchasing the wireless adapter.
