Trying To Connect To Xbox LIVE Through Laptop? *Help*?

When I try to enable ICS on my laptop and I click ';allow other Network users to connect to the internet through this computers internet connection'; It comes up with an error message saying 'ICS cannot be enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing'. What do i do please HELP! I need to be able to connect to Xbox LIVE without paying for the wireless internet adaptor from Microsoft.

You need to Bridge you connection, here are 2 options, option number two seems to have more success. Try these one at a time.





1.go to control panel and select network connections, right click the wireless connection(your internet source) and thenclick properties. Click on the advanced tab and check the box ';Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection';. and then in the drop box, select your Xbox connection (it should be called Local Area Connection)





2.and if that doesn't work, then highlight both connections and right-click on one of the icons, click bridge connections.





I would start with Option number 2 first though, that seems to have more success.

what r u trying to do exactly? you dont even need a computer for XBL you just need the modem, if you already knew that then yea i dont know much about hooking up to XBL through a laptop, i didnt even know u could do that! plz respond by editing your thing or something i might be able to help but idk





edit: yea im sorry i dont seem to know much about connecting to xbox live like that. try what that guy said, but if it doesnt work you should just call 18004MYXBOX, im sure they would help you.
