How do you connect to Xbox Live with an ethernet cable and a laptop?

Hey

I want to connect to Xbox Live with my Laptop and an ethernet cable. I have everything, and I do not want to buy the $100 adapter.

Basicly, could you either give me a link to a website with a step by step process? Or could you just give me a step by step process?

One thing I have tried is plugging in both sides of the ethernet cable into the 360 slot and the Laptop slot, but when I test for Xbox Live connection it tells me there is nothing plugged in for my network.

I used to have a regular computer, and I could connect to Xbox Live fine with it using an ethernet cable, but now I have a laptop and I am having trouble.

I am also using Windows Vista.

Thanks! How do you connect to Xbox Live with an ethernet cable and a laptop?
I connect to my xbox360 through my laptop. To do this I made a Network Bridge. It only takes a few seconds.. Although I have xp but It would be worth a try! Go to Network connections, where you see wireless connection and Local area Connection, hold down the control key and highlight the 2 of them whilst right clicking your mouse, select ';Bridge Connections';. Note: You won't be able to do this if your sharing, so just untick ';Sharing'; then go ahead and bridge. Here's another thing you can do:http://cnettv.cnet.com/2001-1_53-28619.h鈥?/a> it makes your laptop act as a wireless point and it's for Vista. I hope it helps.

Good luck.
